Based in LONDON
Welcome to Learn to Sign with Trae! I created this inspiring children's book series from my personal journey with my son, Trae, who is autistic and non-verbal. Our aim is to introduce children of all abilities to the joys of communication through British Sign Language (BSL). Each book is designed to be engaging, featuring vibrant illustrations and relatable stories that make learning BSL fun. My passion for promoting understanding and inclusivity drives this project, ensuring that every child can connect through language, regardless of their communication style and/or disability.
The series not only focuses on basic signs but also celebrates the beauty of diverse expression. By carefully weaving together colourful imagery and storytelling, I aim to create a rich learning experience that nurtures communication skills while promoting confidence in young readers. It is vital for children to understand and appreciate each other's differences, and my books are a stepping stone to achieving that. Together, we can empower children to embrace their individuality while fostering a sense of community and inclusion.
